About Pelepah

Pelepah was started by Made Wirawan, a former hotel manager who watched a season's worth of disposable plates leave the kitchen every week. Areca palms drop their leaf sheaths naturally, and they were simply being burned.

The leaves are washed and heat-pressed with water alone. The plates hold hot food, then go on the compost.
